About Nathan

I am a 3rd generation South-Sider.  I decided to run for City Council because I recognized  after living here my entire life, that our quality of life has improved in minimal increments. I want to change the perspective that people have of District 3. As opposed to thinking only about the negative, I want to change the perception to a positive.

Growing up in this community I attended Morrill Elementary in the Harlandale School District. I graduated top 10 percent of my class from Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering in 2013 where I involved myself in Varsity Basketball, Varsity Football, National Honors Society and class treasure as well as having an internship with the local  Univision Network. As a student at the University of the Incarnate Word, I have been involved in UIWtv and KUIW, Resident Assistant and  Student Ambassadors. For 4 years I have been involved with Silver and Black Give Back and Team Up Challenge Program with the San Antonio Spurs mentoring students from Pershing Elementary, Colonial Hills Elementary, Winston School and St. Leos Catholic School.

Throughout my campaign I have been invited to speak at several schools including Memorial High School, St. Leos Catholic School and Bellaire Elementary School. I value the importance of promoting higher education, and encouraging the youth to read and participate in their community at a very young age. I was fortunate to have been raised in an environment that encourage both, however, I recognize that we have students today who are not as fortunate because their parents are both working and it is difficult to keep up with everyday life. I also served my community at Puerta La Hermosa, a place that my grandfather founded in 1965.  After 50 years,  he has passed the mantle to my father.  I envision serving as your city councilman as an extension of my passion to continue to serve the people in my community.
